GP 2010 BETA Released

We are excited to announce the newest BETA (developmental) addition to the Microsoft Dynamics GP platform–Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010. Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, scheduled for release later this year, will focus on increasing depth and reach for core functionality; enriching integrations with the Microsoft Office system; extending external connections through Web Services; and ensuring faster Return on Investment (ROI) for customers. This BETA release includes all planned features that will ship with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 RTM (Released to Manufacturing).

CCS participated in an exclusive Partner webcast that the Microsoft Dynamics GP Product Management and Marketing team held to kick off the BETA release, viewing demonstrations of some of the key features to be delivered in the final release. GP 2010 will be tightly integrated with Microsoft Office 2010, which is also offered in BETA and scheduled for release in the next few months.

Supported upgrade paths include GP 9.0 and GP 10.0, both requiring a minimal service pack level before the upgrade is performed. Microsoft is also heavily recommending Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 leveraged with SQL Server 2008 x64 to support the new environment. Office integration will require any edition of Microsoft Office 2007 and will not support Office 2003. Microsoft has also suspended support for SQL 2000 and Internet Explorer 6.0.
