The Situation

As a growing manufacturing company, JE Inc. was struggling as their IT infrastructure grew without guidance. With plants in Wisconsin, Texas, and Mexico, JE was struggling with multiple versions of their data spread across several old servers and dedicated workstations. As the number of external sales personnel grew, the need for a versatile, scalable, centralized infrastructure to run their primary manufacturing application along with applications such as Microsoft Office grew.

The Requirements

JE required little upfront cost. They needed a domain, a desktop environment for their users, two applications that they provided (Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader), 500 mb personal drive space per user, and 10 gigabytes of shared company space. They needed quick remote printing at their plants for labels that were applied to their products. And they needed and wanted it 24/7/365.

The Solution

CCS provided a web-based solution to meet JE Inc.'s needs. Users authenticate and access a full Windows desktop from any computer in the world, and have all their programs at their fingertips. They can quickly print to any printer, and their environment is backed up hourly. Their 24/7 operation is constantly monitored by our Network Operation Center (NOC) and Net-Assure solution to ensure optimal performance and availability. The Microsoft software from CCS is leased on a per-month basis and is always covered in terms of upgrade rights, ensuring that they are constantly using the most current version.Further, every server is protected by our Disaster Recovery Solution (DRS) to guarantee maximum uptime.

JE Inc. now has a single set of data that can be centrally accessed by their three facilities and all of their traveling salespersons in real-time. There is no more synchronizing, no more copying, and no more worrying about if backups are running. Most importantly, there is no more placing expensive computers in a dusty manufacturing plant whose environment causes premature mechanical failure. A simple, affordable thin client is all that is needed to access their systems daily.
